Tool Tales

May 2009

I Have Tried Them All

I have just always been one of those people who have to fix things. I just can't let it go. If a handle on a pot is loose, I pull out my Leatherman and fix it. I have even been caught at other people’s houses tightening up doorknobs and loose screws. I have used and owned many other brands of multi-tools. I have the Micra on my key chain (I used it to make someone jean shorts on a hot day). I usually carry the Wave on me everyday and used it so much at work that they bought me the Surge. I just went out and bought the Skeletool. (I own 4 tools.) I don't usually wear a belt in the summer, and needed something smaller.

I don't have any great stories of how I saved someone’s life, or fixed a loose screw on an airplane in mid-flight, but everyone knows I keep one on me always. Like others have said, if I forget it I feel naked. I have been called MacGyver, and Batman (when I am wearing my cell phone on my belt, too). But those names don't come up when others need to borrow my tools. I have used them on tools, machines, roofing, fixing whatever needs fixing, opening up toys (some you even need the wire cutters). But Leatherman makes a heck of a tool, and I use mine several times each day. Good Product.

Thanks,

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
