Tool Tales

R.I.P. My Faithful Wave

My Wave has been my faithful friend ever since I bought it, back in the late '90s. It has helped me out of many difficult situations, from fixing my broken bike chain in the midst of the Norwegian mountains, to mending a broken carburetor in the desert of Australia.

I was so used to having it around all times, and after 2001, it always slept peacefully in my suitcase while I was on board airplanes, since it wasn't allowed on board any longer.

So when leaving Croatia rather stressed last week, I forgot to put my Wave in the check in luggage and ran to reach the plane...

At security our ways parted. My Wave was taken away from me by an officer, and I had to return to Norway without my faithful friend.

But I bet my faithful Wave will still help that Croatian Officer when in need, because such a great tool will never be destroyed - neither at an airport nor anywhere else!

And I better hurry to buy a new Wave, because I can't live without one.... and neither can my wife who always tells me to fix things since I have such a great tool at hand.

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
