Small Things
I live in Africa - South Africa to be exact, and I have carried a Leatherman Sideclip and now a Charge with me for the past ten or more years. I can think of two occasions where we've been away from immediate help and the tool has come to the rescue. The fist occasion was when my (then) two year old son Jeremy was leaving the beach with us and stood on a bee. I managed to stop him from scratching the sting while reaching for the Leatherman and then using the blade to scrape the sting off without the poison even leaving the sting.
On the second occasion we were walking the kids down the road for Halloween when one of my friends’ daughters stood on a poisonous caterpillar and ended up with the front part of her foot covered in poisonous spines. Again, like years before, I was carrying my Leatherman and was able to sit her down and scrape all of the spines from her foot in minutes. She carried on enjoying the evening with no ill effects from the nasty event. I never leave home without one of my Leathermans!

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
