Changing a Tire....on Skates
Yesterday, a friend and I went rollerblading at our local skate park. Having just arrived at the skate park and riding on newly fitted wheels I figured it was just a matter of putting them on and dropping in. After doing that, however, I noticed I was getting a bit of a bumpy ride. So I stopped and lifted up one of my skates only to find that the front wheel had some seriously sized chunks that'd come off the wheel. So, I take off my skate and sit down to replace the wheel. I grab a wheel out of my skate bag and start looking for the Hex key I always have in my bag......without any luck. I turned out the entire bag and no hex key could be found anywhere. Luckily I had my Leatherman Charge TTi with me that I'd just received for my birthday. I checked out the bit holder and found a Hex bit of the right size. I used the Hex bit on my Leatherman to unscrew the bolt holding the wheel and the pliers to pop out the bearings, popped the bearings in the new wheel, used the Hex bit holder on my Leatherman to screw the bolt back in and I was ready to roll again.
Turned out to be a pretty good day after all thanks to my Leatherman. I'm never leaving home without it again!

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
