Wave Gets Crushed

While travelling from Houston to Atlanta with a trailer of furniture, I arrived in Baton Rouge, LA just before a thunderstorm. I stopped and bought a rain tarp and rope to keep my load dry. After using my just out of the box Leatherman Wave to cut the sections of rope, I hurriedly jumped in the truck and left the tool on the rear bumper of the truck. I made it about a half a mile down the road and realized my mistake. After pulling over and not finding my Wave, I circled back to the previous exit on I-10 and started a slow search from the shoulder of the interstate. Just before reaching the spot where I doubled back, I spotted my Wave on the highway. As I was about to retrieve it, three tractor trailers in a row ran over my new Wave. I was crushed as much as I thought my multi-tool would be flattened. To my surprise, the outside had a few scratches, but all the blades and tools opened as if it was new. This convinced me these tools are indestructible, and I haven't gone a day since without my lucky Wave!

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
