Tool Tales

Right Tool for the Job

I'm a youth pastor and last summer I took a group of kids to Mexico on a mission trip. While we were there we worked at a woman's house making repairs to it. One of these projects was to remodel part of her house to make it into a hair salon. The City required that she have a working bathroom in the salon area other than the bathroom in her house. So we went to work building it for her. I ended up using my Leatherman Blast tool nonstop on plumbing and carpentry projects.

The best of these moments was when we were trying to use a saw to cut through PVC piping for the drains. I got so sick of using the saw that was provided because it could barely cut and when it did you could count it not being a straight cut. It was maddening work in 100+ degree weather. I had had enough so I got out my Leatherman and cut through the pipes with ease and accuracy. I was so pleased. If I wasn't a lifetime customer before, I definitely was after.

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
