Medical Emergency
I bought a Leatherman Kick about 5 years ago, and whilst on holiday a piece of kevlar snapped off a tent pole and went into my finger, about 1-1/2". Kevlar doesn’t show up on x-rays. So, rather than visit the a+e department at the local hospital, I made an incision in my finger with the blade and then removed the Kevlar - which was in three pieces - using the pliers. I taped up the wound with electricians tape afterwards. The following holiday my dog got a 1" thorn stuck in her paw. Again Leatherman saved the day.
Sadly it broke yesterday at work, so I’ve just bought a new one - same model of course. I may give up the camping, but not Leatherman.
PS - DONT ATTEMPT PERFORMING SURGERY ON ANYONE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AS ONE SLIP COULD BE FATAL, BUT IT DOES SHOW THE USES FOR THE TOOL.
