I have owned just about every Leatherman model made. I have used them as a MAJOR backup when I was a contractor, as often you just can't carry everything you need in a tool pouch. Since my first basic Leatherman, I have seen improvements in your products and have enjoyed almost every change, with the exception of the add-on bits, as they usually get left behind or lost in tool boxes.
Your WAVE model is the main one I carry now, and after the tip broke off, I used a bench grinder and rounded the ends and it is still going strong. I am, however, having to send in a CORE model because the lock clip of one side had broken.
