Tool Tales

March 2009

Asking Around

I've only been a Leatherman owner for a few months, but for years before I got my first one (Skeletool) I was always interested.

Every farmer, plumber, skateboarder, and computer geek I saw while I was in college was never out of reach of thier Leatherman of choice. I talked to them all, and they all liked different things about them, but they all would agree on one thing. They could accomplish 99% of everyday tasks with a flick of the wrist. And did they ever put them through the mill.

A farm hand I met could work his like a butterfly knife. A plumber had a magnet on a string in his truck that he used just for fishing his Leatherman out of undesirable places. The skateboarders' had road rash and the computer geeks' had electrical burns.

We come in all shapes and sizes but we all get the same question at least once a day, "Hey! Got your Leatherman on ya?"
That would make a cool t-shirt (I wear a XXL).

God Bless,

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
