Tool Tales

November 2007

Best Gift

I recently got a Leatherman Charge XTI for my birthday; I also got a new bike (pushbike) which came in a flat pack. So I assembled the bike using allen keys provided and all was fine. About 2 weeks later, cycling home from work, miles away from home, and the handle bars began to work loose. It was ok at first, just a bit of a wobble, nothing I couldn't control. But after a short while it became clear that I wasn't going to get any further. Using the large flathead bit on my Leatherman I was able to turn the large allen bolt on the handlebars and tighten it. It hasn't budged since! I have used my Leatherman on a near daily basis since, Thank you!

The second Charge in the original series was just as high-end as the first. With a cutting hook instead of scissors, it was hard to choose between the two.

Tell Us Your Tale

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
