Leatherman Earned Me a 100 Bucks
Dear Leatherman Tool Group,
I am writing to tell you guys the story about a bet. This bet was simple. My friend Harlen bet me $100.00 that his Gerber Diesel Multi Tool could not only do everything my Leatherman Surge could, but do it quicker and better. So during lunch at work last Tuesday we set up the course to carry out the bet. The course consisted of this: cutting 12 pieces of 3/8 rope, sawing through one 14 inch piece of 2x4, screwing into a piece of 2x4 six 2 inch drywall screws, removing the screws from the wood, tightening up 4 3/8 bolts, and cutting 24 pieces of 12-3 electrical wire.
So we had a ref, and he gave us the go signal. Harlen started and really thought he was doing something great. I gave him a head start of about five seconds, mainly because I was laughing so hard about the situation. Anyway to make a long story short the Surge won the bet, in a time of 8:36. I share this story only because it truly shows that you guys make the best multi tools in the world. My Surge literally walked all over the competition. So anyway I have a new challenger who says his Gerber will beat my Surge. This time we will videotape it, and I will send it to you guys to see for yourself. There is no doubt in my mind that the Surge will once again be crowned champion.
So with the hundred bucks that I won, I bought Harlen a Wave and welcomed him to the brotherhood of Leatherman owners. I also took my beautiful wife out to dinner so it was a pretty good day. Leatherman kicked Gerber’s butt, and I got a free dinner. So the bionic lobster is alive and well in our part of the country.
Guys and Gals, keep up the great work. The Surge and I are looking for our next great adventure to tell you about.
