Saved from Being Stranded
Hi folks,
Yesterday, the 14th of Sept 2009, brought with it a real surprise.
A friend and I were out fishing at this lovely spot. We had gotten there on my bike, a Honda scooter.
It so happened, that in my excitement to fish, I managed to somehow, lose my bike key in the dense green cover surrounding the spot. I realized this only much later during the day.
Having realized this, somehow I did not worry too much, thinking that somehow things would work out, and continued fishing. Come evening and we decided to call it a day. By then we were experiencing heavy downpour and a frightening thunderstorm.
I climbed up the escarpment, and ran to where the scooter was parked. This is where my Leatherman Wave proved its versatility.
I tried unlocking the scooter with the regular pliers and the large pliers, to no avail.
I was beginning to lose hope and considering the prospect of trudging 5 kms in the pouring rain, to find a locksmith in town, when I thought to tinker with the humble scissor attachment, on the Wave.
To my great surprise, after a few attempts, the scooter came unlocked, and a few attempts more saw the ignition turn on. Oh it was such a relief... I’m so proud of my Leatherman Wave, having proved its field worthiness.

OK, you voyeur, you. Enough of reading other people's stories. It's time you told your own tale of gripping heroism or even just neat DIY'ism. We know there's a Shakespeare in you somewhere. Don't make us use the Steens to find it.
